Over 20 pickpockets arrested at EuroPride

The police arrested a total of 21 pickpockets during EuroPride in Amsterdam, five of which were caught after the stole a special bait-phone equipped with a tracking system. The two week long LGBT Pride festival ended this weekend with the traditional Canal Parade on Saturday and closing party on Sunday. According to news wire ANP, so far at least 200 people reported falling victim to a pickpocket during the event. The police believe that this number will increase, as not all reports were filed in Amsterdam. Another eight people were arrested in eight cases of someone being insulted for being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.
