Video released in knifepoint robbery of Amsterdam bus driver
On Wednesday the police released video footage of an Amsterdam bus driver being robbed at knife point on Pampuslaan on IJburg. They call on witnesses to come forward. Amsterdam public transport company GVB offered a 5,000 euro reward for the tip that leads to an arrest.
The robbery happened during the early hours of Tuesday, July 26th. The video shows two robbers forcing their way into the bus and threaten the driver with a knife until he gives up money. One of the robbers hits the driver with a knife, because he thinks the driver sounded the alarm. The driver had to get stitches.
The two robbers were disguised, so recognizing them is tricky. But the police hopes that someone may recognize their voices.
