Eindhoven cop fired for leaking information
A 46-year-old police officer from Eindhoven was officially dismissed for leaking confidential police information, ANP reports.
The man was arrested in October last year on suspicion of violating his official secrecy. The Public Prosecutor now decided that he will be prosecuted for that. The Prosecutor believes that he searched for information on police systems numerous times and then gave that information to third parties.
There are at least two other suspects in this case. A 53-year-old man suspected of inciting the cop to violating his official secrecy, possession of illegally obtained police documents, illegal possession of weapons, forgery and violent crimes. Numerous confidential documents were found when this man was arrested.
The police also found confidential documents with the other suspect, a 41-year-old man. According to the Public Prosecutor, the only way this suspect could get hold of these documents was through the now former cop.
