Man found dead after Rotterdam storm
A man was found dead in a pool of water in Rotterdam after massive storms hit the city during the early hours of Thursday morning, NOS reports.
The victim seems to have been electrocuted. It is unclear whether this happened because of the storm. The police will release more information during the course of Thursday.
Storms caused quite a few problems in the western parts of the Netherlands during the early hours of Thursday, including flooded streets and basements, lightning strikes and washed away sewer lids.
The storms will continue throughout the day and spread out to the rest of the country. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow storm warning and warns residents to stay away from open water and areas and not take shelter under trees.
