Sirens blaring in Amsterdam today: for children's party, not emergency

Over 400 emergency vehicles will be traveling through Amsterdam with sirens blaring on Friday afternoon. They will be transporting sic and disabled children to the Artis zoo for the annual Children's Beast Feast, Het Parool reports. The Amsterdam municipality asks city residents not to get a fright from the massive amount of sirens, but please do get out of the way. The Children's Beast Feast will starts at the zoo at 5:30 p.m. The party is specially for chronically sick or disabled children and their siblings and parents or guardians. Due to the procession a number of streets surrounding the zoo will be closed between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Friday. Trams 9 and 14 will be redirected and no one will be allowed to park on Plantage Middenlaan and Plantage Kerklaan between noon and midnight. This is the 17th edition of the Children's Beast Feast. The party is arranged in cooperation with 40 hospitals and institutions in Noord-Holland and Flevoland. Some 1,700 volunteers work on it every year. https://youtu.be/kUWkrF1C7hQ
