Confidential data stolen from police officer’s car

A break in in a police officer's private car in Apeldoorn on Monday led to the loss of confidential information on an ongoing investigation, among other things. The car was parked in a parking garage in Apeldoorn when the break in happened, according De Stentor. The windows were broken and the thieves fled with their loot. The loot included three laptops, a cellphone, two police identity cards and access cards to police buildings. And a file contain confidential information on an ongoing investigation. The police immediately blocked the stolen access cards. A spokesperson told Omroep Gelderland that they are looking into what measures should be taken. According to the broadcaster, the officer did not follow the rules for storing confidential documents.
