Parents to get up to €1,000 more for child care
Government parties PvdA and VVD agreed to give parents more money for child care next year. Depending on their income, parents will receive between 100 and 1,000 euros extra in 2017, NOS reports.
The government is making 200 million euros extra available for child care next year. This extra child care money will benefit families with mid-level and high incomes in particular. Child are is already covered for the most part for families with lower incomes.
This measure is intended to motivate more women to go back to work after having kids.
The proposal still needs to be discussed in the council of ministers. Minister Lodewijk Asscher of Social Affairs and Employment will present the plan soon.
