Cops find weed-filled shopper bags in car’s engine bay during stop
Two people were arrested in Amsterdam Nieuw West on Wednesday after the police found four plastic bags full of cannabis under the hood of their car, the police reported on Thursday.
According to the police, a car with foreign license plates was pulled over on Cornelis Lelylaan after officers noticed it making strange maneuvers on the road. When approaching the car, the officers notices a strong odor of cannabis.
The two people inside the car were searched and a small bag of cannabis was found on each of them. As this could not account for the smell, the officers decided to search the rest of the car.
Under the hood they found four large plastic bags, each filled with cannabis.
The two people in the car were arrested. The Amsterdam West police are investigating.
