Netherlands ranks as Europe’s top bicycle exporter

The Netherlands is the largest bicycle exporter in Europe, accounting for about a quarter of all bicycle exports in the EU. Germany comes in a close second, with other countries falling further behind, according to figures Statistics Netherlands released on Thursday. Last year the Netherlands exported 793 million euros worth of bicycles, a 14 percent increase compared to 2014. The bulk of the exports were produced domestically, the rest were imported to be exported again. World wide the Netherlands is the 3rd largest bicycle exporter, behind China and Taiwan. The Netherlands is also the largest bicycle manufacturer in Europe.
