Fugitive sex trafficking convict caught in Zwolle
The police arrested a fugitive convicted of sex trafficking a coffee shop in Zwolle on Monday. The 44 year old man was convicted of human trafficking and forcing women into prostitution.
For several years the man forced women to prostitute themselves in different places in the Netherlands. He humiliated, abused and threatened them. In July 2013 the court in Arnhem-Leeuwarden sentenced him to 4 years in prison and paying some 22 thousand euros in damages.
The man was not in custody when he was sentenced and did not turn him self in to be imprisoned.
The man was transferred to a penitentiary institution to serve his sentence. He was arrested by FastNL, or the Fugitive Active Search Team - a team especially established to hunt down and arrest fugitives.
