Explosive forces Amsterdam Noord evacuation after armoured car robbery attempt
A building on Buikslotermeerplein in Amsterdam was evacuated and the surrounding area closed off after two men tried to rob an armored car using an explosive on Monday.
The police received the first report of the attempted robbery around 11:45 p.m. Two men grabbed a money transporter on Buikslotermeerplein and threatened him with an explosive in an attempt to rob the armored car. This failed and they fled the scene on a black scooter with blue license plates
The area surrounding the attempted robbery was evacuated and closed down. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal squad is at the scene to investigate the explosives.
The police are looking for the perpetrators and are calling on witnesses to come forward. They fled through the Baanakkers park in the direction of Beemsterstraat.
