New video shows suspect in Amsterdam bike path sex assault

The police released video footage and information about a sexual assault that happened just off a bike path on H.J.E. Wenckebachweg in Amsterdam during the early morning hours of January 28th. They hope that information from the public will lead to the perpetrator's arrest. The victim, a young woman, was cycling on the bike path around 2:30 a.m. on January 28th. She was cycling along the correctional institution Overamstel, near the Spaklerweg subway station, when a man on a bicycle overtook her from behind. The man fell and the victim stopped. The man pretended to be in pain and approached the woman. When he was close enough, he grabbed her. The video show him dragging her into the bushes along the bike path. Both the victim's and the perpetrator's bikes remained on the bike path. A pedestrian came by and stole the perpetrator's bike. The perpetrator took off on the victim's bike. The perpetrator is 1.8 meters tall, between 25 and 30 years old and has tanned skin. He was wearing black tracksuit trousers and a camel-colored khaki jacket with a black hood. The police are calling on anyone who happened to be on the bike path between 2:20 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. on January 28th to come forward as they may have noticed something important. In addition to that, there are also some specific people the police would like to talk to. At around 2:50 a.m. a car parked on H.J.E Wenckebachweg. Three people got out, two men and a woman with blond hair, and walked into a flat. The police would like to talk to these three. The police also wants to make contact with the man who stole the perpetrator's bicycle. "We realize that this man might find it difficult to report himself, but it is very important that he reports himself and that we can secure the bike for investigation. We emphasize that this man can report himself to the police free of repercussion." the police write. At around 2:15 a.m. a girl with long blond hair and a backpack cycled on the Weesperzijde. She came from the direction of the Amstelhotel and cycled towards the spot where the victim was attacked, about 15 minutes before the attack happened. The police would like to speak to her as she may have seen something important, perhaps even the perpetrator. https://youtu.be/f9_OoAdqSaI https://youtu.be/oPNKepUVZN4
