Over €26k raised for elderly couple beat up in hate crime
Some 1,400 people donated more than 26 thousand euros in a fundraiser for an elderly couple who was robbed, beat up and called "dirty Jews" in their home on Heemstedestraat in Amsterdam last year.
Blog Geenstijl started the crowdfunding project to support the couple last week, AT5 reports.
The violent robbery resulted in them having to live in a nursing home. Samuel Blog was blinded in the attack and both he and his wife Diana are now bound to a wheelchair.
The robbers took off with jewelry, clothes and 15 thousand euros.
Early this month the police released more information on this case, in the hopes that a tip from the public will lead to an arrest.
