Bowie exhibit brings in 100,000 visitors

The Groninger Museum welcomed its 100 thousandth visitor to the “David Bowie Is” exhibition currently on display at the Groningen institution, according to newswire ANP. The museum extended its opening hours to cope with an increase in interest after the singer’s death in January. They also extended the closing date of the exhibition by nearly a month. It was set to close in Groningen on March 13, but people in the Netherlands now have until April 10 to visit the Bowie exhibit. David Bowie Is opened on December 11, and the performer and artist passed away on January 11, shortly after the release of his latest album, Blackstar. His death came just days after his 69th birthday. The Groninger Museum sold an extra 20,000 tickets to David Bowie Is within two days after the singer died.
