Tilburg police launch child porn investigation into Instagram pics

The police called in a special child pornography team to look into dozens sexually suggestive photos of young Tilburg girls being shared on photo app Instagram. Most of the girls in the photos are under the age of 16, Brabants Dagblad reports. Over the past months there were at least eight Instagram accounts actively sharing these photos. According to the newspaper, many of the photos were clearly sent to someone in confidence, and not to be shared. In many cases the girls are completely naked. The accounts also share videos of fights between school students, online bullying and the telephone number of one girl which can be called for sexual favors. Many of the kids in the photos and videos attend the Tillburgse Vakcollege, a pre-vocational high school, though there are also girls from other Tilburg schools. Vakcollege director Robert Weijmans told the newspaper that the school reported the pics to the police at the start of the school here. "We repeated the report several times. I can very well imagine the dismay of the parents. We are working very hard on the guidance of their children." According to the newspaper, involved parents complain that the school did noting to prevent the problems. The parent council does not even know about it.
