Schiphol sets record for most passengers

A record number of 58.2 million people traveled through Schiphol Airport in 2015, the Schiphol Group announced on Monday. That is a 6 percent increase compared to 2014, NU reports. The number of flight movements increased by 2.8 percent to 451 thousand. The number of destinations that can be reached from Schiphol remained about the same at 322. CEO Jos Nijhuis expects around 60 million people traveling through Schiphol this year. The Group's regional airports also saw an increase in passengers. Eindhoven Airport grew by 10 percent to 4.3 million passengers. Rotterdam The Hague airport accommodated 1.7 million travelers, an increase of 0.3 percent.
