VVD city councilor accused of beating up Weert businessman

VVD city councilor in Weert Rolf Zincken was arrested for beating up business man Eric Adams on Sunday. According to Adams, the two of them were having a discussion at a party at Paterskerk in Weert when the drunk councilor suddenly started hitting him, the Telegraaf reports. "A year and a half ago a marijuana plantation was found in a building of mine. I didn't know anything about it, it belonged to a tenant. But a neighboring property was Rolf Zincken's. He confronted me about it. Suddenly he began to beat me, he was super drunk and just wanted to fight", Adams told the newspaper. Adams fell and hit the edge of a buffet and was knocked out early in the fight. "I heard later that he sat on me and kept hitting. I woke up in a pool of blood." Adams sustained black eyes, a broken nose and a concussion, according to the newspaper. Limburg media reports that the VVD in Weert asked Zincken to not attend any council meetings for the time being and to stop going to parties.
