Over €25 million in cocaine found in pineapple juice delivery

Nearly 1,100 kilograms of illegal narcotics was found hidden in a shipment of pineapple juice, police said on Tuesday. The drugs, believed to be cocaine, has an estimated street value of between 25 and 30 million euro. Four people, between the ages of 22 and 28, were arrested from around the Netherlands in connection with the find.

Investigators made the discovery in a warehouse in Raamsdonsveer, Noord-Brabant. Police descended on the location after receiving a tip about a narcotics delivery. The authorities then used x-ray scanning equipment to search the contents of the fruit juice cargo. "The pineapple juice sat in bags, and two bags appeared different from the rest," police said in a statement. A magistrate will arraign the four suspects in Rotterdam on Thursday.
