Arrest made in 2013 assassination during Amsterdam dance party
The Amsterdam police arrested a 32-year-old man on December 1st in connection with the assassination of a 26-year-old Amsterdammer during the Waterfront dance party in the Scheepvaartmuseum in 2013, the Public Prosecutor announced on Friday.
The victim was assassinated with multiple gunshots at around 1:30 a.m. on May 25th, 2013. This happened in the middle of a crowd of party-goers.
The suspect was initially arrested for another offense, but is now in custody on suspicion of involvement in the assassination. He is kept in restriction and can only have access with his lawyer. On December 14th the court extended his custody with 90 days.
The Public Prosecutor believes that this murder is connected to the gang-related assassinations that's been plaguing Amsterdam for the past few years.
