Five stabbed in Amsterdam psychiatric clinic

A stabbing incident at the Amsterdam psychiatric clinic Inforsa on Tuesday left five employees wounded. One patient was arrested, broadcaster NOS reports. The stabbing happened around 5:30 p.m. The five injured employees were treated in hospital and allowed to go home after treatment. Exactly what happened is still unclear. Inforsa, located on Duivendrechtsekade, is a closed institution that offers treatment to people with multiple psychiatric problems, including people sentenced to mandatory psychiatric treatment. It is unclear whether the perpetrator was in the clinic due to a conviction. A spokesperson for the clinic told the broadcaster that the stabbing is being investigated. One of the things they are looking into is how the patient managed to get hold of the sharp object used to attack the employees. This is the first such incident to happen in this clinic. "In a clinic like ours you deal with verbal and physical violence, but this is remarkable for us", the spokesperson said.
