Dutch nat’l football matches could move to Rotterdam, Eindhoven
The Dutch national football team may be playing home games in De Kuip in Rotterdam and the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven, instead of solely in the Amsterdam Arena from next summer to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Dutch football association KNVB asked all three stadiums whether they will be available to host Oranje on certain dates, the Telegraaf reports. According to the association, this is standard procedure, though so far Amsterdam Arena was structurally chosen because of its capacity and reception capabilities.
Amsterdam Arena will be undergoing some construction work to get it ready for the European Championships in 2020, when Amsterdam will be host city and organize four matches.
