Justice Min. in U.S. on counterterrorism, cyber security talks
Security and Justice Minister Ard van der Steur is currently in the United States on a two-day work visit to discuss counterterrorism and cyber security. He will also attend the bi-annual ministerial meeting between the US and the European Union while there.
On Thursday Minister Van der Steur met with Ministers Loretta Lynch of Justice and Jeh Johnson of Homeland Security. They discussed, among other things, handling cybercrime, the development of the terrorist threat facing the West and measures such as those taken in the Netherlands, according to the Ministry of Security and Justice. He also met with President Barack Obama's cyber security coordinator Michael Daniel at the White House.
On Friday Van der Steur will take part in the meeting between the EU and the US. During this regular six-monthly meeting, the attendees will discuss cooperation between the EU and the US in the field of justice and home affairs.
