Father abandons kids to burglarize home

A 41-year-old man arrested while attempting a burglary, found himself in even deeper trouble after telling officers that he had left his two toddlers at home alone, police said in a statement. He was caught at about 2 a.m. on Friday while attempting to break into an office building on Industrieweg in Waalwijk, Noord-Brabant. He had cut through a portion of the gate and was found carrying a bag of tools commonly used for breaking-and-entering, police added. After his arrest, the suspect told officers that he wanted to let the preschoolers sleep. Police brought a family member of the alleged prowler to the suspect's Heusden home to care for the kids. Child services agency, Bureau Jeugdzorg, was notified of the incident.
