Teen woman killed in Enschede, suspect unknown

Police in Enschede say an 18-year-old woman found dead near the Rutbeek park and recreation area was possibly the victim of a crime. Her body was found on De Loeksweg at about 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. The woman was identified in various reports as Sandra van Duijl, believed to have left her home about four kilometers away on Europalaan. She was last seen there at 6:20 p.m. on Friday. Her identity was still unknown to police as of Sunday evening, as there was no evidence of such on her body when she was found. Police say the cause and manner of the death is still under investigation, as is the location where Van Duijl died. Investigators worked with sniffer dogs and a helicopter to try to gather more clues in the case, while a forensics team on the ground worked at the scene. Meanwhile, several detectives are expected to be assigned to the case before the trail runs cold. Police hope that anyone with information about Van Duijl or how she died will reach out to them quickly.
