Rainy week starts with Monday thunderstorms

The Netherlands can expect rainy weather this week, starting with a code yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and strong winds on Monday afternoon. The weather warning will be in effect from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Heavy showers will be drawing across the country this afternoon, according to the KNMI. The showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms. The coastal areas and IJsselmeer may have to deal with strong winds of up to 75 kilometers per hour later in the evening and on Tuesday. Afternoon temperatures for Monday are expected to reach around 19 degrees. The rest of the week will also be cool with a daily chance of showers, storms and heavy winds. Maximum temperatures for the week will fluctuate between 16 and 19 degrees.
