Thunderstorm warning for Netherlands today
The Netherlands is experiencing some gloomy weather after a warm, sunny weekend. Today started cloudy in most places in the country, and will remain so throughout the day. Afternoon temperatures are expected to be between 20 and 23 degrees.
The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute, the KNMI, has issued a code yellow weather warning for thunderstorms covering the entire country. Storms may be accompanied by hail and strong winds. The warning will be in effect from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The center and south of the country woke up to dense fog on Monday morning. The fog should dissipate during the course of he morning.
More showers are expected to move from west to east through the country on Monday night. Minimum temperatures will be around 14 degrees, with moderate to strong winds.
On Tuesday morning, the showers will pull out of the country eastwards, with regular sunshine following for the day. The afternoon temperatures are expected to be around 20 degrees. The KNMI expects that the cloud cover will return on Tuesday evening.
