Floating Red Light District houseboats on sale for €10,000

Six houseboats that were used for prostitution on the Zandpad in Utrecht, has been put up for sale on Marktplaas for 10 thousand euros each.  The seller, Jeff, is advertising the houseboats as "for sale without mooring place", which means that they will have to be moved. According to the seller, the houseboats were completely renovated in 2012 and were only in use for "a few months". "The boats are divided into four separate living areas, each with their own kitchen, toilet and shower", he writes. They also have air-conditioning and central heating. Two years ago the municipality of Utrecht withdrew the licences of window brothels due to a number of abuses, including human trafficking. The operators appealed, but failed. Hundreds of prostitutes worked on the Zandpad. The houseboats have to be removed from the Zandpad as of January 1st next year, according to NOS.
