The Public Prosecutor is preparing to charge John F., the suspect in the murder of nurse Linda van der Giesel in Waalwijk on Monday, with murder or manslaughter. Linda's funeral will be held in Bergen op Zoom on Tuesday. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor announced the charges just before F.'s arraignment on Friday, the Telegraaf reports. Linda van der Giesel was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Tweesteden hospital in Waalwijk on Monday afternoon. F. turned himself in to the police on Tuesday. Soon after the shooting the police confirmed that the nurse had reported several threats that F. made against her. The police admitted that they underestimated the seriousness of the information. The D66 has demanded answers from Minister Ard van der Steur of Security and Justice. Linda's funeral will be held in the Crematorium Zoomstede in Bergen op Zoom at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Omroep Brabant. The funeral service will be open to the public.
