Ex-boyfriend held in woman’s murder overnight

A 43 year old man was arrested in Drachten on suspicion of involvement in the murder of his ex-girlfriend during the course of Thursday night. The police responded to a home on Moleneind Zuidzijde on Thursday night after neighbors reported an incident in the house. The officers entered the house by breaking a window and discovered the lifeless body of a 32 year old woman. She appeared to have been killed by violence. A witness gave the police a description of the 43 year old man. He was traced to Mleneind and later arrested. The police also found the victim's eight year old son in the house. The boy was handed over to his father. Forensic investigators performed an extensive investigation in the home. The suspect will be questioned on Friday.
