Dutch football matches rescheduled as police threaten strike

The KNVB has rescheduled the five matches in the premier league that had to be cancelled due to police strikes. This was done in consultation with the involved football clubs and mayors. The five matches that had to be moved are ADO The Hague against PSV, SC Heerenveen against De Graafschap, FC Groningen against FC Twente, PEC Zwolle against SC Cambuur and NEC against Excelsior. These matches will now be played on Tuesday, August 11th and Wednesday August 12th. The scheduling for the first round of the Premier League now looks as follows: Saturday August 8th - Roda JC vs Heracles Almelo at 19:45 and Feyenoord vs FC Utrecht at 20:45 Sunday August 9th - AZ vs Ajax at 12:30 p.m. and Willem II vs Vitesse at 16:45 Tuesday August 11th - ADO vs PSV at 18:30 and SC Heerenveen vs De Graafschap at 20:45 Wednesday August 12th - FC Groningen vs FC Twente ant 18:30, PEC Zwolle vs SC Cambuur at 19:45 and NEC vs Exelsior at 20:45 The KNVB had hoped that the start of the football season could run as initially scheduled, especially for the stadium visitors and clubs. But according to the football association, this new schedule is the best possible alternative.
