TU Delft electric race car wins Formula Student championship

Students of the Delft University of Technology have won the Formula Student competition with their electric car, the University announced on Monday. After winning the race on the Hockenheim F1 cicut in Germany, the TU Delft team was given the "Overall Winner" title of the design- and race competition. The Formula Student competition is considered the unofficial World Cup, as all the about 700 leading teams in the world participate. Formula Student is a design competition in which teams have to design and build their won racing car. Each team has to collect as many points as possible in eight parts, including design, business presentations, acceleration, endurance, test and efficiency. "In the electric class they finished above teams from universities in Zurich, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart", the university said.
