Policeman's car bombed in Limburg attack

A bomb exploded in a Heerlen police officer's car around 02:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. The Limburg police are investigating. The explosion happened on Vondelsstraat in Brunssum, the Telegraaf reports. The vehicle sustained severe damage. The involved police officer was at home during the explosion. He works as a surveillance agent in the center of Heerlen. The police established a so-called large-scale Investigation Team to investigate the incident. This attack happened shortly after a police officer from Kerkade was sentenced to 2 years in prison.
