Amsterdam to commemorate Van Gogh with 50,000 dahlias

Amsterdam will be commemorating the 125th anniversary of Vincent van Gogh's death on July 29th with a life-size self portrait made from 50 thousand dahlias on the Museumplein. The work will be be constructed by the ZundertsHe parade community as a tribute to Zundert's most famous resident. Van Gogh was born in Zundert, Brabant on March 30th, 1853. The flowers this piece will consist of is currently growing behind Van Gogh's childhood home.
