Hot weather bringing afternoon thunderstorms

Sunny and warm with a chance of thundershowers, is what the Netherlands can expect on the weather front today. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 30 degrees during the day, but by late afternoon some severe thunderstorms will move across the country from Zeeland. The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute has issued a code yellow weather warning for severe thunderstorms for the whole of the Netherlands. The warning takes effect at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and will last until 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The thunderstorms may be accompanied by hail and strong winds.
