3FM Serious Request glass house headed to Breda

The 3FM Serious Request fundraising event is taking place in Breda, Noord Brabant next year. The event is heading back to the city again after six years. This year, it is scheduled for Heerlen, Limburg between December 18 and 24. A Serious Request is an annual, multi-day fundraising event in cooperation with the International Red Cross. In the Netherlands, it is hosted by the 3FM radio station. During the event, three popular DJs are locked up for six entire days in a small temporary studio known as the "Glass House". The event take place in a different city each year. It was held in Haarlem's Grote Markt last year. During the event, DJs make an interactive non-stop broadcast, while the station suspends its regular programming. DJs play songs requested by the listeners in return for their donations. Last year, the program collected nearly 12.4 million euros in donations, a slight jump from 2013 when the Netherlands raised 12.3 million euros.
