Loud crash blunder fails safe thieves

Two people were arrested in Arnhem on Sunday after making a lot of noise while trying to get a stolen safe open. According to the police, a witness heard a loud crash on the Rotterdamsingel in Arnhem. She called the police after looking through the window and seeing a man and a woman walking away with a safe. The witness was also able to describe the car the suspects had left in. The police found the car on Burgemeester Matersingel and saw that there was indeed a safe in the back seat. Investigation showed that the safe was stolen from a house in Beuningen earlier that day. The police believe that the crash the witness heard was caused by the suspects throwing the safe off a high building in an attempt to open it. The suspects, a 38 year old man and a 36 year old woman, both from Germany, were arrested. The police are investigating.
