Burglar arrested after fighting off three cops

The police arrested a 44 year old man in Alkmaar on Sunday morning on suspicion of breaking into a shed on Herenweg. The suspect vehemently resisted arrest and managed to fight of three cops before finally being arrested. The man broke into the shed around 5:40 a.m. on Sunday. When the police arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled. With the help of a police dog, the police were able to find the man in the area. The suspect fled again. He jumped into a ditch, swam across it and threw a bicycle at a police officer's head, thereby slightly injuring her hand. The suspect was found again on Achterweg. Despite the police officer using pepper spray, the suspect punched him in the face and managed to get away again. The suspect then ran into a third police officer. This cop also used pepper spray on the suspect, who once again hit the officer and tried to flee. This time the suspect's luck seems to have left him. He fell and was arrested by the officer. The suspect is in custody for further investigation.
