Lawyer: More suicides possible in teen prostitution case

There is a good chance of more suicides in the Valkenburg teen prostitution case now that the Public Prosecutor has decided to prosecute 29 of the suspects. This is according to lawyer Iva van de Bergh, who represents 18 of the suspects, the Gelderlander reports. The lawyer believes that these men have been punished enough and that prosecution will destroy their lives. These men are suspected of having sex with a 16 year old girl. The man who was caught with the girl in a hotel room in Valkenburg, Limburg in October last year, committed suicide in February. A second suspect in the case also took his life in March. Up to 80 men have been implicated in this case, 23 of which have confessed to having sex with the girl. These men are expected to testify against Armin A., who was arrested in October as the girl's pimp. The Public Prosecutor dropped some of the charges against A. in April.
