Firefighters battling rekindled forest blaze

The forest fire in Chaam has rekindled. Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the fire, with the help of a team from Twente that specializes in wildfires. According to the fire department, the humus layer was still smoldering and caused small fires to start in a few places, NOS reports. The fire department has advised members of the public to stay out of the nature reserve. A large forest fire raged in the area on Sunday, destroying some 60 hectare of forest. It took the fire department a long time to get the fire under control. A 16 year old boy from Breda was arrested by the police yesterday in connection with the fire.
