Drug smugglers find free passage in Wadden Sea: report

There has been no control on drug smugglers in the Wadden Sea since June last year. And this will go on to at least the end of this year. Sources within customs and Rijswaterstaat said this to the Telegraaf. According to the newspaper, two patrol ships disappeared because of reorganization. This created a vacuum. The patrol ships were replaced by fast boats, but it will be months before the customs staff and border guards are trained to use these boats. "A huge influx of drug traffickers will come if it becomes known that there is no control." one of the sources said.
