Podium collapses during parliament debate

The debate on the flight MH17 disaster in eastern Ukraine had to be paused on Thursday after a portion of the podium platform collapsed. According to NU., the platform collapsed under State Secretary Wilma Mansveld of Infrastructure while she was answering questions in the Tweede Kamer, lower house of parliament. Kamer president Anouchka an Miltenburg paused the meeting, asked Mansveld to leave the lectern for her own safety and continue her speech in Block K.
