Dutch war and holocaust institute get €8 million grant

The European Union has made an 8 million-euro grant available for the expansion of the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI) of the institute for war, Holocaust and Genocide studies NOID, NRC reports. NIOD is going to cooperate with institutions in Eastern and Southern Europe to proved better access to Holocuast archives. This project will provide digital access to the archives and collections of the Holocaust - the systematic mass murder of millions of Jewish people during World War II. The project currently provides access to over 1,800 Holocaust related archival institutions in 51 countries, including the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Center for Holocaust Research in Poland and Yad Vashem in Israel. New partners will make their archives available for this project. These new partners include countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Italy and Greece.
