Trains stopped after bomb discovery
There are currently no trains traveling between Roermond and Venlo. A bomb from World War II was found in Swalmen at Roermond while work was being done near the tracks. Rail traffic can only resume once the bomb has been made safe.
Buses have been deployed on the route. Travelers should take extra travel time of between 15 and 30 minutes into account. NS expects the rail traffic to resume around 14:00.
The bomb was found at the height of Op de Berg in the area between Roermond and Swalmen, NU reports. The police have called in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal to deal with the explosive. The bomb is about ten meters away from the A73, but according to the Traffic Information Service, thus far has not caused any hindrance to car traffic.
