Top Dutch museum nominees revealed

The nominees for the 2015 Museum Prize has been announced. The winner of the most prestigious public prize in the Dutch museum world will receive an amount of 100 thousand euros. The nominees are:

The Fries Museum in Leeuwarden - according to the Museum Prize website, this museum displays the best silver, Mata Hari's diary, contemporary art and slow design. "Whether you're in the neighborhood for holidays, a Frisian born or just love beautiful things: this brand new museum should not be missed."

The Amsterdam Museum - this museum tells the story about Amsterdam, past, present and future. "Based on the concepts of entrepreneurship, free thinking, creativity and citizenship, history is brought to life and linked to present and future."

And the Zeeuws Museum in Zeeland - "the place where the history and culture of Zeeland come to life." According to the Museum Prize website, the collection in this museum provides a rich picture fo the historical developments of work, leisure, religion, science and art and shows an unexpected side of Zeeland. "In the Zeeuws Museum you are touched by beauty." From today everyone can vote for their favorite museum on the website museumprijs.nl. Voting closes April 12th and the winner will be announced on April 16th.
