Arrested Bungehuis occupiers released from jail

The 46 people arrested on Tuesday for occupying the University of Amsterdam's Bungehuis building have been conditionally released with a probationary period by the Amsterdam Public Prosecutor (OM). The 44 protesters that stayed in jail overnight were released on Wednesday, while two protesters were released on Tuesday on conditional discharge after they provided their identity and indicated a willingness to pay the penalty imposed by the district judge. The protesters will not face criminal prosecution if they are not charged with any further offences over the next two years. An additional suspect was arrested on Tuesday outside the Bungehuis, but the charges against that person were dropped.
