Gangland murder overnight in Amsterdam Zuid

A 45-year-old man was gunned down while sitting in his car in Amsterdam Zuid just after midnight on Sunday. Police said in a statement they have had previous contact with the man, found killed on Bertelmanstraat. The victim is Mario Magan Tier, a resident of Marbella, Spain who splits his time between Amsterdam and Marbella, where his wife and kids live, Parool reported. He was indicted for attempting to import hundreds of kilos of cocaine from South America through the Rotterdam port. His trial was set to start later this year. He was shot multiple times, police stated. “Witnesses spoke of a single gunman who walked away towards Des Présstraat shortly after the assassination,” a police spokesperson wrote. Shortly after the incident, police put out an alert on community policing website Burgernet. Officers were looking for a slender 1.8-meter tall Moroccan man wearying a black jacket and white pants, Burgernet stated. He had previous been wearing a red coat. Dutch-Moroccan gang leader Samir B., also called "Scarface", was shot and killed in Marbella last August. It is not known if the two shootings are related. Security cameras in the area of the Amsterdam crime are now being analysed, and a Large-Scale Investigation team is canvassing the neighbourhood looking for witnesses. https://twitter.com/telegraafticker/status/564349805758279680
