Suspect in teen girl prostitution case commits suicide
The Public Prosecution has confirmed that one of the dozens of men suspected of having sex with a 16 year old girl in a hotel in Valkenburg, has recently committed suicide, 1Limburg reports. According to 1Limburg, reliable sources close to the investigation claim that it was the man who was caught red-handed by the police in a raid in October 2014. This man was the first to be arrested. "We are aware that this man has committed suicide", said a spokesperson of the Public Prosecutor. "We regret that very much. He was indeed a suspect in the investigation." During the police raid at the Botterweck hotel in October last year, the police caught the man having sex with the 16 year old girl. The girl had been reported missing. The 21 year old Armin A. was on the toilet when the police raided the hotel room. He allegedly acted as the girl's pimp and is considered a prime suspect. A. had a cellphone with him with a list of customers. The police also found a number of used condoms in a trash can. A. is still in custody. A.'s attorney told the Volkskrant that his client only acted as the girl's pimp because she kept on insisting that she wanted him to and he wanted to protect her.
