Ziggo customers moved to UPC from next week

Millions of households' televisions will soon loose signal. Ziggo is adjusting its network because of the merger with UPC. Customers will therefore have to set their TV or decoder again. This affects all 2.3 million customers who watch digital television via Ziggo. Nothing changes for UPC customers. "We want to unify the networks of UPC and Ziggo, so that we can offer the same products and services in the whole country. It is a mega-operation, which we meticulously prepare for." said Ziggo spokesman Erik Deoselaar. "Customers actually have to do the same when they buy a new decoder or get a new TV. Then you have to fill out a frequency and network ID. That we sent per letter." People who have planned recordings with a digital recorder will have to reset it. Personal favorite lists of channels will also disappear and will have to be rebuilt. Ziigo will adjusts the network per region. Customers will be notified by letter when it is their turn. Next week Gorredijk will be the first region in which customers will have to reset their stations. The rest of the Netherlands will follow in the coming months.
