Six days, 30,000 fireworks complaints

Netherlands residents have lodged over 30,000 complaints about fireworks in just six days on the website Vuurwerkoverlast.nl. The site is operating for its third year and went back online for the holiday season less than a week ago. People can register their complaints through January 3rd. This is the first full week of legal fireworks sales in the Netherlands. Millions are spent on the fireworks across the country, with most set off on New Year's Eve. The site is operated by 25 different political groups affiliated with the GroenLinks party. They will compile the gripes and distribute a report to the lower house of Parliament and to 15 mayors.
