New car destroyed in fireworks blast

A almost new BMW 3 Series was blown up with a piece of heavy fireworks on Sunday in Oud Gastel. The perpetrators were caught on images from surveillance cameras. Owner Jeroen Bomer has filed a report with the police. The about 4 month old car was parked in front of Bomer's home on Sint Antoinedijk in the outskirts of Oud Gastel on Sunday morning. Around 05:45 there was a loud bang followed by a big flash of light. The BMW's windows shattered and debris from the dashboard and sunroof went flying. Bomer did not hear the bang himself - he was sleeping on the other side of the house. He only discovered his heavily damaged car after sunrise. "Who does that? I do not have enemies." Camera images show the perpetrators arriving in a car and stopping in front of Bomer's house. They stick a firework against the side window of the BMW and drive off towards Stampersgat. According to Bomer, the explosion caused about 15 thousand euros worth of damage. The car is currently at a repair shop. Bomer reported the incident on Monday.
